Female, woman and girl Athlete Injury pRevention (FAIR)

This international consensus project co-lead by Professor Kay Crossley and Professor Carolyn Emery (U Calgary) aims to determine the best practice injury prevention strategies for female, woman and girl athletes. Four systematic reviews will summarise the effectiveness of injury prevention strategies for all body areas (lower extremity, upper extremity, spine/pelvis and thorax, and concussion), and a scoping review will determine the factors associated with dissemination and implementation of injury prevention strategies. A Concept Mapping and Delphi exercise will identify evidence gaps and research priorities. Together, a set of statements regarding best-practice will be established, and the consensus group of researchers will meet face-to-face in March 2025 to approve the statement recommendations.
