Reducing women’s knee OA burden

SUPERWoman: Following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, women have worse short- and long-term outcomes compared to men. The outcomes that women disproportionately experience include worse pain, reduced function and quality of life, and difficulty returning to sport and activity. These outcomes may be symptoms of early knee osteoarthritis. Despite this, no studies have created and evaluated possible solutions for women. The aim of SUPERWoman is to create an ACL rehabilitation program for women to improve activity and quality of life, and reduce symptoms and knee re-injury risk.
